Martina Magenau Jacobs is the maternal grandmother of Gillian Jacobs. She was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Her parents were her father William F. Jacobs Jr. Lebanon. She is of French German, Irish, as well as Scottish ancestry. She is of French Irish, German and Scottish descent. Her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was CEO and President of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been founded in 1847. It was shut down in the year 1978. Jacobs went to her local theater, the Pittsburgh Playhouse on Saturdays to learn acting lessons. At the age of 8, she began the study of acting. Mt. Jacobs graduated from Lebanon High School in New York, in the year 2000. She then moved into New York City in order to study at Juilliard School. Juilliard School.
